Plastic Surgery ScholarshipsWhen it comes time to start thinking about paying for college, the rising costs of just about everything have many students worried and wondering if they are going to be able to afford a good education once they leave high school. But the good news is that there are many forms of financial aid available. Loans can cover most of your costs, but can be expensive when it comes time for repayment.

While paying for college can be expensive, paying for an education in any kind of medical field is even more so. Studying to be a doctor takes longer and costs a lot more in supplies and books in the long run. Students wishing to pursue a career in medicine will find that there are many grants and scholarships available to help accomplish this task. Some students are eligible for more than one.

The Plastic Surgeons Foundation, which is part of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, offers grants and scholarships to students who wish to pursue a career in plastic surgery. The PSF as it is called focuses on what it considers areas of research that are critical to the health and well-being of all their patients. Some of these cutting edge areas of research include, tissue cell regeneration, fat grafting research, and many other topics as well. Information and applications are available at the PSF website.

The PSF also offers several grants, scholarships, and fellowships for doctors who specialize in particular areas of plastic surgery. The PSF recognizes that the field of plastic surgery is at a turning point and only cutting edge research and new innovations can bring this sometimes questionable medical field up to date as far as standards of safety and expense go.

The Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation also offers grants, and scholarships to students who major in medicine and plastic surgery. The Foundation focuses on research into critical areas of plastic surgery. Some of these areas include, safety and success in surgical procedures, improving current instruments and developing new ones, and many more. The Foundation offers three different grants for three different areas of study. More information and the actual applications are available on the website.

Wherever you go to school there is going to be financial aid available. Even students who go to online colleges are getting financial help with paying for their education. The help is out there, there are a lot of places to look. Some of the other places you might find information are your high school guidance counselor, or the financial aid office of the school you want to go to. You can also apply for standard financial aid grants, like Pell and Tap. Every little bit helps.

I wouldn’t want my daughter to pursue her studies in plastic surgery. Please advise.

Keep in mind there are different forms of plastic surgery, some forms help transform car accident victims and some transform birth defects.
