Starbucks ScholarshipsCoffee giant Starbucks is about more than a great cup of coffee. Starbucks has done a lot to give back to communities around the world. One area in which Starbucks is striving to make a difference is education. Starbucks recognizes that the students of today will be the leaders of tomorrow. Because Starbucks is an influence in so many different types of communities they have tried to offer a variety of programs all with the goal of helping pay for college. Many of the larger companies have similar programs and initiatives in place.

Working with the talented staff of Lexington college, Starbucks offers a full scholarship to incoming students at this institution. Unlike some grants and scholarships, which require you to follow a specific course of study, this scholarship gives the student a chance to choose their own career path and course of study. Recipients of this scholarship receive ten thousand a year to help pay the costs of attending school. They are required to have a letter of reference to even apply for this scholarship. They also have to submit a written essay as to how this scholarship will help them further their goals.

Starbucks also offers full scholarships to the children of their employees to the institution of their choice. This scholarship is only awarded twice a year. Competition for this award is stiff, there are many qualified applicants. Applicants must complete a written essay and skills assessment for this award. This scholarship is worded to cover the full cost of going to a two or four year school. Students receiving this scholarship are expected to maintain a certain GPA in order to keep receiving funds.

In their attempts to make the world a better place through better education, Starbucks focuses on youth education programs, college scholarship and a lot of business training programs as well. By focusing their attention on more than one area, Starbucks almost guarantees themselves a talented and diverse workforce, as many people who complete Starbucks programs often return to work there.

Starbucks has been in the business of great coffee for a long time. They are also very active in ecological causes, as well as their major contributions towards improving medical conditions in third world countries. Starbucks is well aware that today’s student body will be running the world tomorrow. Starbucks just wants to make sure that the students of today get the best possible education they can.

Information regarding programs that Starbucks offers can be found on their website. Also you can stop in to your favorite Starbucks and ask anyone for information. They will be more than happy to answer any and all your questions. Some colleges and high school guidance counselors may have information on Starbucks scholarships. The Internet is fast becoming your best source for information on any topic, but if you can’t get on the Internet, your local library ranks a close second.

I am planning on going to Roberts Wesleyan College in the fall of 2012. I am enjoying working for Starbucks in Queensbury, NY. I am having a hard time trying to see if Starbucks gives College scholarships or grants to there employees. I already have 3 years of college credits and am going to college here full time while working for Starbucks full time. Could you direct me to the right website or help me some other way.

    Thank You
